Dodge Wagoneer 2017
Before we can even attempt to delve into the 2017 Jeep Wagoneer, it is prudent to reveal that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is holding its cards so close to its chest that the deck is practically still sealed.
The only reason that a 2017 version of the Wagoneer is being bandied about is because the FCA head carved a war path to take on Range Rover. The latter has risen head and shoulders over the majority of the large SUV car segment.
The 2017 Jeep Wagoneer does have pedigree, an undeniable fact. The previous versions of the Wagoneer were rolled off the line from 1963 to 1991, at a time when car making was the rage.
Though this new version of the Wagoneer does not exactly resemble its ancestors, it still holds some of the character that made it so beloved and successful for Jeep back in the day.
According to Carsoid, the new Wagoneer will be released in conjunction with the Grand Wagoneer. Rumors abound online claim that these are practically the same car. The Grand version is a more fitted out version of the Wagoneer.
Let's take a look at what muscles this SUV is bound to flex in its showdown with competitors.
Engine Specs of the 2017 Jeep Wagoneer
To push against the competition in this high end sport utility vehicle segment, Jeep is bound to bring the big guns to the show.
The 2017 Wagoneer is sure to sport under the hood a 3.0 liter EcoDiesel power unit. Though intended to be kinder to the environment, this engine still manages to do some impressive work. It churns out power equivalent to 240 horses and a torque of 490 pound-feet.
For the ultimate petrol head that loves their comfort, there is the option of Jeep's under-the-hood monstrosity. The V8 Hemi engine has a capacity of 6.4 liters and gives off over the top numbers too. This powerhouse manages to give out 485 horsepower and a torque of 475 pound-feet.

These engines will be hooked up to 8 speed automatic transmission gearboxes manufactured by the ZF Group in Germany.
Exterior
As stated earlier, the 2017 Jeep Wagoneer will pick up some cues from the older versions of the iconic SUV.
The front fascia of the new Wagoneer screams Jeep from afar. The iconic seven-partition grill stands out. The sculpted headlights at either end of it also give the Wagoneer a mean look. In such a large car, this character is vital.
The bumper has been made bigger and brings the Wagoneer into the modern world of high end SUVs. The fog lights are embedded herein and, therefore, add more of the mean and gritty approach.
There is also a front air intake that is located at the base of the bumper that accentuates the muscular theme of this car.
Since the Wagoneer is coming against a capable opponent, Jeep has to pull out all the stops when it comes to the designs on the automobile. So expect a gorgeous SUV to grace the showrooms when FCA decides to release it.
New Wagoneer Interior
Just like the exterior, there is no concrete knowledge about the interior of the 2017 Jeep Wagoneer.
Since the main mission of this car is to knock the Range Rover off its perch atop the SUV segment, expect FCA to go all out in decking out the Wagoneer. This is no easy feat, however, seeing as Range Rover spare no expense in making sure that their product oozes class and elegance.
FCA will install its UConnect system that it uses in the Chrysler. A large touchscreen is also in order. This will be in the stead of the manual dials and traditional gauges in the olden versions of this SUV.
The interior will also have to be plush if there is any chance of making Range Rover uncomfortable in top spot. Leather and wood trims within the cabin should also make an appearance.
Back passengers will also be treated to entertainment through screens mounted in the front headrests.
